The Pirep
Why the Cessna Mass Arrival?   by Rodney Swanson Pirep No. 1   March 1, 2008
Fred Johnson addressing the group at Cessna BaseCamp in 2006 In the summer of 2005, a small group of Cessna owners led by Fred Johnson met on the grounds of North 40 during the celebration of EAA AirVenture to figure out a way to park their airplanes in adjacent rows, camp under their wings and have fun together. Cessnas 2 Oshkosh is the offspring of that meeting.

We have two main goals: To stage a mass arrival of Cessna aircrafts into EAA AirVenture and to train Cessna pilots in basic formation flying techniques to safely accomplish the mass arrival.

The Pirep is our official newsletter. It is a vehicle to keep all the participants in the Cessnas 2 Oshkosh 2008 Mass Arrival and our friends informed about new developments on the road to Oshkosh 2008.

It'll be published on the first day of each month with extra issues published as the need arises.

News Flash!!!   Letter of Agreement (LOA) Approved
The LOA (Letter of Agreement) with the FAA is approved! This makes it official. Cessnas 2 Oshkosh in partnership with Cessna Pilots Association is officially a "Go" for EAA AirVenture 2008. In short, the LOA assigns us the arrival time of 2:30pm on the 26th of July 2008. The Wittman Regional Airport (OSH) airspace will be closed to allow Cessnas 2 Oshkosh to arrive unimpeded.

The ball is now in our court. We have clinics already scheduled and we reasonably see another four clinics spread throughout the country to allow the opportunity for everyone to be trained. To make the event successful we are going to need everyone to make an effort to attend one of these clinics. Let's make this year's event one for the record books!

To read the entire text of the LOA, visit our website at www.cessnas2oshkosh.com.
